Our Netiquette

We invite you to join us in discussing topics related to the Museum Selma on social media (Instagram). We welcome stimulating and critical discussions conducted in a friendly and open atmosphere. To foster a positive and respectful community, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Comments should be relevant to the discussion at hand. For other inquiries, please email us at hallo@museum-selma.de.

Hate speech will not be tolerated. We will respond to such comments, and in severe cases, we may hide or delete them, as well as block the corresponding accounts. For hate speech that violates criminal law, we may report it to the network operator and law enforcement authorities. Hate speech is defined as verbal acts against individuals or groups with the aim of devaluing or threatening them due to their membership in a disadvantaged group in society. The person or group does not necessarily have to be a numerical minority; conversely, minority groups are not automatically disadvantaged.

Our social media team reserves the right to delete comments without prior notice if their content is:

  • Defamatory
  • Insulting
  • Violating personal rights
  • Harmful to minors
  • Politically or religiously extreme and/or agitating
  • Racist or sexist
  • Discriminatory
  • Inciting violence
  • Pornographic
  • Illegal

Posting such content in comments is not permitted. The same applies to content of a commercial or advertising nature. Commercial use is not allowed. Repetitive, nonsensical, or irrelevant posts are also unwelcome. Please ensure that your contributions are always related to the topic of discussion.

For external links, we reserve the right to check the linked content and, if necessary, remove the URL or the entire comment.

Anonymity: Please use caution with your anonymity. When commenting, always do so using a registered account. Express yourself in your comments in the same way you would do in the real world. We recommend that you handle personal data carefully on social networks. Take full advantage of the privacy features offered by social networks.
